Financial Literacy (2019)
FinLit is a Financial Literacy course developed in partnership with EverFi and TGA. It teaches financial skills for grades 9-12.
My Role
I was a game, UX and subject matter expert consultant. I helped align learning goals into various interactions and game ideas. I reviewed the scripts for accuracy and shortness and helped produce the wire framing.
Lessons Learned
Brainstorm Early with Everyone
One of the most successful aspects of the project was the choice by the client to open ideas up before scripts were written. This allowed for flexibility in content structure. By focusing on the content and less on the structure, we were able to come up with several different ways to present the material and pick the ones that fit the content best. We also had buy in from all team members with everyone contributing ideas early on and having an open process for which ideas made their way into the final product.
